I wrote up a little speaking blurb for my site. Naturally, I thought it was pretty great. But my husband suggested I look up websites of other women speakers to get ideas. Thirty minutes later, I ended up sprawled on the floor in my office, choking my childhood teddy bear and crying like a baby.
These women speakers have book deals. Causes they support. Cute noses and flawless teeth. They speak at huge events, inspiring the masses to make life-changing decisions. I can’t even manage to keep a microphone beltpack attached to my jeans. It’s not that these women and I are on different planets. We’re in different galaxies. And there’s no wormhole to be found.
The truth? Though I authored a book, I’m not a writer. I’m not a speaker either. I have zero natural talent or ability. But something changed when God took me on the adventure otherwise known as Let Me Fall. I have fallen for Him. And in turn, He’s given me a story to talk about.
