What I Do In My Spare Time

When I’m not writing, I like creating. Here are a few of the things I’ve been up to this year.

Momma & Baby Owls

Crochet rug from old sheets.

Brothers from another mother.

My little super heroes.

  1. Oh, fun!! I wish I was crafty. But more often than not, if I attempt a craft, I end up with glitter paint in my hair. Or accidentally cutting my hair. Or burning my hair with a glue gun. Yeah, crafts are dangerous to my hair… 🙂

You’re a smart woman to protect the hair at all costs. 🙂

  2. #1 fan

. There is no end to your awesomeness!

    • beth

You’re too kind. 🙂 I’m not awesome enough to make beautiful paintings or keep plants alive…

  3. Heather

I’m in love with Chewy and the ewok. Are they crochet and felted? Very cute!

    • beth

Thanks! They’re crochet. Is wire-brushing wool called felting? If so, then yes 🙂

      • Heather

I think they call that needle felting? I don’t know but whatever it is, it looks wonderful.
I’ve done some felting before but now that we have a front loader it’s so hard to do.
I’ll have to look into this wire-brushing method.

        So cute!

  4. Joe

Honored that 3 of those items reside in my home.

    • beth

Yay! It’s cause you guys rock. 🙂 And you actually like my homemade gifts…

  5. Love the kind of things you crochet. I grew up when women were crocheting table top doilies that were heavily starched that were like a Shakespearean collar around the base of a lamp! Maybe when I finish my book (almost) I can sew again, or play the piano. Sigh!!

  6. And where might one purchase these items from you, Beth? I totally want a set of “Brothers from Another Mother” and the owls for my nursery. We have an eclectic theme anyway. Seriously, will you make me some? I’ll budget for them. 🙂

  7. Carolyn Trucano

Aye, Joe, right you are! I’m honored to have some of the lass’s earlier creations (one is crocheted but not pictured above). I also have two creations of words in a frame – each a very different genre – nevertheless special. Ahh . . . a very talented lass, even if she can’t keep plants alive!
(That curse must run in the family!)
